Any Engineering Gurus On Here? Hydraulic Fun Time?

  1. You need to make sure that the remaining 4 springs are up to the job, at least std spec/slightly higher or clutch plate "slip" more likely on One litre engines upward.

  2. It’s not by the sprocket and is part of the right hand engine cover. Not an ideal design but there you go.

  3. It’s a 93 750ss (waits for thread to move……) so options are limited to none in terms of the slave end. I have looked and the meat on the slave cylinder isn’t great. Add to that the complexity of mounting a casting like that to bore it out true and it’s a complete none starter. Whereas going at the master allows a simple (and reversible) way of adjusting the ratio. Piston travel will be identical on the master but reduced fluid transfer will reduce throw at clutch end. Question is whether any meaningful reduction in feel can be gained before length of throw reduction makes clutch inoperable….. It seems that removing a couple of springs is the first step and then see where it goes from there. Being a wet clutch that isn’t as simple as a dry one sadly but not the end of the world.

    I am hoping I can get it to the point where it’s ok for a couple of hundred miles. By comparison my recently sold ZZR1100 and newly acquired MTS1200 didn’t give issues after hours of riding. Just about finding that solution as would be a shame to have to sell the bike because of one small problem.

  5. What models were they fitted to? Bigger bore would mean less travel if fluid transfer is reduced but that’s not a problem. If If I can get a bolt on solution that would be brilliant.
     
  6. Can you get a quickshifter to fit and work on that age of bike it would reduce the the amount of time you used your clutch.
    Or even more radical convert the rear brake to operate the clutch and the clutch to operate the rear brake
     
  7. You can get nice radial master copies from china for very little money. Here's a example. Comes in 14mm, 15, 16 etc.

  9. I tried an Oberon type slave cylinder, which was had a much lighter pull but I just couldn't get on with it.
