Don't really know. Sort of pipe fittings I think. May have something to do with a market garden irrigation system. I saw them a few years ago when walking the dog and just snapped them with my phone. This may disappoint some who thought I was going to mention what lens and exposure I used...
It the name of someone who comes from here, but that's not important right now... Lens, Pas-de-Calais - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My wifes picture, not mine. The F800 is hers, the RS is mine and the two RTs are a pair of Irish guys who turned up and pitched tents in our garden for a week.
"4 old relics in front of a new building?" I showed your post to my wife who owns the newest of the bikes in the picture and she is not impressed! Her bike is only 8 years newer than my Ducati.
So as it was a dry day yesterday I nearly bloody killed masel humping the Tripod, camera & filters about 3 miles up to the Vee Notch weir on the Kelvin to play with some filters. When I was there I had to be super careful about not falling in, its muddy and a lot of foliage. Most of the shots I ended up with were disappointing, but its a learning curve. Reasonably pleased with this one though, minimal post just a little raising of HDR and a bit of cloning on the background as something (still not sure what) got onto the lens, marking the background. The ND and polarizer, made a dramatic difference to the sky, from sheer white to nice muted detail.
Good choice with that photo as it was the most flawed as it was a very dull day and you couldn't get a good speed/aperture compromise. I can see that it's sharper which is obviously good, but somehow it's dulled down the colour. I guess that'd be easy to fix though. It does show that effort is rewarded. I guess that the post photo editing is more subjective in that different people look for different things. I think I might need to start learning! I don't ever shoot in RAW, although like most cameras my old 400D can, so I think I'll need to take a few next time I'm out and have a play. I do have Photoshop but it's so complicated for me (used to use Paint Shop Pro which was far more intuitive), Youtube instructional videos here I come! Thanks @Old Jock
Got an old Canon D60 would love one of their Pro lenses but could never justify it, so just cheapo Opteka & Sigmas biggest being a 300mm, only really use it at racing.
My pleasure Stang TBH there was no selective choice of the picture it was a bike, it was top of the pile and looked like a good shot that I felt could just do with a bit of sharpening on the rider. Tell me what else you'd would like done with the picture & I'll give it a go. If I can get a copy of the full sized original jpeg, I'll tart it up and then send you the adjusted one too. I think I took the color down to draw the eye more towards the rider its easy to raise it back, this photography lark is like all images very subjective. If its color exposure etc: I think Adobe RAW or Lightroom are the tools. Its just I have a pathological hatred of Adobe and their policies (I'm like that with Apple stuff too, although I recognize the products are very good indeed) @Tobytyke that first image is a stormer
