V4 Any Known Issues To Be Aware Of?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Fanous, Jun 18, 2023.

  1. Fuel consumption gets better with miles on the bores but it’s still can be thirsty if you use the throttle/rev range, I’m averaging 40 @4k miles. It was low 30s in the early miles after the 600mile service. Replace the Pirelli Scorps with sport’s rubber & it’s an over grown supermoto but it’s harder to resist temptation & tyre mileage will be short(er) as the Pirelli’s seem to last for ages mine were swapped @3k miles & hardly worn , now @ 1100 on Sportsmart TTs & think 1500miles on rear is achievable? ! Will try a 2nd TT rear to wear out front then swap to M9RRs .

  2. You won't notice it, it will be in his topbox :D

  3. After riding a demo, I bought my multi V4s. But I'd never buy a demo bike after the abuse I gave the quick shifter !!!!!

  4. That's true though. I too was trying to see what the bike can do, regardless of what's the mileage on the clock. It's becoming a bit of a no brainer, really, if talking demo v new.

Is the Akrapovic slip on exhaust going to make any noticeable difference in sound? Or waste of money?

  7. Good to know, thanks.

Will be sending mail to see what's their lead time from order to delivery, so I can start planning selling current bike and all that.

  8. I've put down a deposit on the rally, should have it end of August. First time getting actual new bike. Any tips and tricks for all that?

  9. I love my V4S travel and radar, with the following exceptions

    1) it’s a chain drive
    2) the built in sat nag is crap
    3) the fuel range isn’t great

I had two GSAs and an RT before I had the Multi, which was shaft drive and a 30 litre tank. I’ve subsequently fitted a Garmin XT, Ducati have brought out the Rally version with its larger fuel tank.

  11. I just took delivery of a new rally radar. Still running it in but so far loving it. I also got the Ducati 30 litre soft bag for the rear seat. Comes with lots of straps and bungees but no instructions. Buggered if I know how it should be fittted. Google not throwing up anything useful. Any ideas anyone?

  12. Congrats to your Multi, I'm hopefully getting one end of August. That bag looks interesting. I've not decided what I'm doing yet with the top case/bag, and panniers, if I should get any or not. Only used panniers for two up tour, just don't seem to be doing those often. So seems like a waste on me.

  13. Congrats on the new bike. I’m pretty sure you need the Ducati rack for that bag. It’s about £50 IIRC, here it is on my bike.
