Yep you're right, done this on a number of occasions. I've always booked a 4 birth cabin for 2 to share. Get a good scoop in, good nights kip to sober up, have breakfast and you're on your way. Good luck with the planning and trip.
I've had a look on Youtube and these roads look great - I'd be fine with going this way. Rather than heading to a different hotel every single day, if practicable it'd be nice to have just a couple of nights at the same hotel if there is a good town/city to explore and use as a base for some day trips. On the other hand if this trip really doesn't lend itself to that then so be it. On a personal note I've been to Zagora a couple of times so I'd sooner not go there again if there are other options.
Zagora is in Morocco iirc, you mean Zaragoza, where the big cathedral basilica is ?? PS, Not on the route I was considering

Mate, as yet, I have no real plan, only an idea of area and roads, I have one more night shift to do then I break for 14 off and can put some time in to it, but if you wanna take hold of the horns and do something completely different or you have a route you'd like, fill ya boots. As already said, am as easy as it gets and just want some sun and a few beers (maybe even a crafty smoke as I sometimes do while away). I did make a start last night and have a fairly good idea of area, but nothing concrete as yet.

I'll have to take another day off but that's doable. I'm looking at hiring a van for the week to get to and from the port of departure so I don't mind which port. I don't trust the British weather to hold out and a 4.5 hour ride each way in potential shitty weather would be a rubbish start and finish to a weeks riding adventure

I'm tempted, but I've already got an Italian trip booked. That said I was speaking to a pal of mine this afternoon who lives in Portsmouth and I'm thinking of having a long weekend down in your neck of the woods in the spring. He rides an Aprilia RSV4 and we are gonna sort details out when we meet up in morzine at the end of the month.
