The MOT advisory says "clutch lever shortened" could that mean the end of the lever is broken off. Which could mean it's been over on the left hand side hence the locks top problem
It could also mean the tank has swelled. I have a 1098 and the tank elongated slightly, causing the stops to need adjusting to prevent contact. Other clues are whether the key block is still central in the indicator switch shroud, how close the steering damper bracket comes to the tank on full lock (and whether there is a mark on the tank where it might have made contact) and how easy it is to get the tank on and off. If it takes an inordinate amount of pushing to get the hole at the rear of the tank to meet the location lug, the tank has stretched. They can settle back to the correct form if left in the right conditions and if that happens it's best to then get the tank coated internally to stop it happening again.
Ring John at JHP Ducati Coventry and he might be able to tell you when they have last serviced the bike and its history with them. Looks like they originally supplied it as new.
