I appreciate it's not at the big boy end of the food chain, but I'm pretty keen to see what the new 959 has to offer.
Good track bikes. I followed a couple of CSS instructors round Donington last year. Could barely keep up with them! Not slow bikes in the power sections either.
It’s a strange bike the 899/959, I had one myself. But with it being nearly a 1000 these days but massively down on power compared to one, I am surprised Ducati carried on with it. My 600 will outdrag a trioptions bike !
Haha It’s all good. Yeah, I mean my 6 was stock spec motor last year and I was with one all the way down to Pilgrims drop/into hawthorns at brands. 121bhp at the wheel at the time, and around 165kg’s bike weight. I think it’s a weight thing personally. I’m running a supersport engine now which with the right electronics would be more like 135/140bhp
How did you find the suspension on the Rf ? I've just bought a 68 plate 1 Happy with it it's a bit firm I'm about 16stone with my kit on My 1199 with firm but the Rf is dam stiff ! Albeit the rds last weekend were a bit messy & damp
I’m a similar weight. I’ve had the aprilia track settings put into my front and rear suspension and it’s perfect for me on track, feels amazing
I test Rode the V4S and the 18RF as I was after a track only bike. i did enjoy the V4S but got quite a lot of wrist ache and that was the only reason I went for the RF instead. it’s not as quick as the V4S in a straight line but it’s still mega quick. It feels super stable in the corners too. I am very tempted with the updated V4S though and interested to see how the updates have improved it.
