  1. Oof. I’d never buy a used car from Keighley!

  3. That’s what happens when you ask 20-25k for something that’s worth 16k

  5. I genuinely couldn't care if the value of the bikes I own dropped through the floor. I'd just keep them and buy more. :) Only a fool sells at the bottom of the market. I wasn't planning on selling anything anytime soon, so it makes no difference to me.

My heart bleeds for Sheffield, if the market collapses.

  6. My Dub should be with more for the next 5 years at least. If market crashes, and doesn’t need a 10k rebuild, it will stay until I need the cash or the space.

  9. My lad if he had the money, he loves em and is doing up a 320i E reg one

  10. Don't tell me...........let me guess...........has he lowered the suspension and put ultra low profile tyres on :)

  11. Brexit which people use to threaten other people with , likely to improve classic car market rather then destroy it. £ falling means the rest of the world wants to buy from UK.
I have bought 2x classics this year and sold 1. Wasn’t so easy so sell but again wasn’t that difficult...
most of the people who were interested in my car and actual buyer were from outside of the UK .
Classic car market in Germany and Holland is very strong and not about to go away.

  12. thats a proper bmw, a gorgeous looking car with its own look and a build quality that deserved the price.
now? hmm nah. over priced for something no better than the rest.

  13. I wasn't using Brexit as a threat, but there is absolutely no denying the current lack of direction and clarity is causing ripples across many sectors - used classic/exotic cars being one...

  14. I’m selling my Porsche 993 Carrera 4 at the moment. Just spoke to Virgin911. I had spoken to them in March and then just got busy. The market since then has softened. It could be just sales BS, or time of year, but he was putting it down to Brexit and confidence. But the drop is not drastic - at least for 911s - he dropped his suggested retail price from 55k to 52/3k... so not sure the % drop on the E-type, but maybe it depends on the car/segment of the market?

BTW, anyone here want to buy a beautiful 993 in Arena Red? Hard back sports seats, hollow spoke Turbo wheels, working aircon, upgraded and refreshed suspension (done by Chris at Centre Gravity), new clutch and flywheel just done, some new paint... genuinely lovely car. All work dones at top indies: NineExcellence, Precision Porsche and some work at Porsche main dealers (including the paint). 48k service done about 5k miles ago. So no big bills looming... Tom at Virgin911 said it was the best interior he’s seen in a while: lovely condition, and all-black leather rather than the usual grey dash... good deal for a cash sale and you’ll get a fantastic car... PM me if interested. Advert over!

  15. Sold my 968 a few years back, lost on average £1000 pa over the ten years I had it.
Like all the nice cars/ bikes I've owned, wish I'd kept it.

  16. Assume that’s a Porsche 996... those are cars just tipping from old modern Porsche over to new classic... and they were mass produced in large numbers so are not rare... so that type of car is going to be the first casualty in any change in market sentiment. But quite possibly a sign...

I also wonder if all the talk about electric cars is causing people to pause when thinking of investing in a fossil-fuel burning monster?

  17. Japan too is RHD and they love classics... it’s a reversal of the pattern 10 years ago when UK was buying up classics from other markets... sign of the times...

  18. Really wish I kept my 1st car, Hillman Imp. It must have tripled in value....up to £330...at least.
