This is sad news indeed. I found his openness about his health inspirational. Too young to be lost to his family, friends and the Ducati community. Rest in peace Al.
Just seen this. I was only thinking about him last week and wondering if he was still with us. How sad, but not unexpected and if the goodbye thread he posted a while back is anything to go by, he met his maker with bravery and dignity.
damn just seen this al was a great font of knowledge on the forum but most of all will miss his humour didnt actually meet him at the super sausage for the ss meets usually i got there later because i got lost lol such a large personality on the forum he will be dearly missed
Very sad news and my heart goes out to his family. I never knew him personally but gleaned so much useful information from his posts on the SS section of this forum, so I guess that's a wonderful legacy he leaves us all.
Al welcomed me to his Suffolk home on one memorable occasion, when he and Glynis were most hospitable. He had a series of challenging medical issues to deal with, which he bore with fortitude. Sorry, but not surprised, to hear of his demise. One of the good guys. Farewell.
I was privileged to see - when he shared them with me - some of Als architectural illustrations - a talented artist, of that there is no doubt. I always admired his willingness to share his extensive technical knowledge with anyone who sought help - that and his unique and bloody funny direct sense of humour - will be much missed.
Damm I must admit to hardly ever being on here since I sold the 1098 (purchased a BMW, I know, I know, but I'm getting too dammed old) I'm really really sorry to hear the news, I'll miss him, we had quite a few exchanged on here mainly over Guzzis
Not been on here for a few months, and the first post I find is this one Never met Al, but, one the "old forum" we worked together to design, create and distribute some forum members decals. Sorry to hear the news, my thoughts are with his family and friends.
I came on here, to message you Al! About Dads Ducati, finally got it built. Needless to say, absolutely gutted to have found this thread. You were a true gent, always had time for anyone and I know Dad loved the long conversations and dreams of having a Moto Guzzi! Ride safe up there and say hi to the old man too!
