He will need a podium or good points finish in both the Austrian GP's as the Ducati's and KTM will be very strong. I fancy MM to win in COTA , so let's see how Quartararo handles the pressure this time. Can't wait til next season when the V4 runners will finally get the tyres they should have got this year but you know what stopped that.
Not sure how much of that choice was influenced by Dorna and their wish to have an American in motogp for marketing purposes. Gerloff is a talent but possibly watched too many Andy Irwin training videos...... Presumably Kenny Roberts was otherwise engaged!
Gerloff is the available Yank something Dorna would want for sure, Toprak as has been stated is very well funded by Red Bull and the Turkish government to stay where he is. He could go to MotoGP but it wouldn't be on a Yamaha for sure.
