Attilas Radical Project

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Attila, Jun 17, 2013.

  1. Well the bike was dropped off at MADASL yesterday for the tail chop and the exhaust, Mark has come up with a neat way of mounting the tank which should look pretty damn good.

  2. I also wanted to put up a pic of the Acewell 6556 dash i have for the bike

Its tiny, the size of a smartphone and absolutely packed with features, i cant wait to get it fitted!

  3. This is great I would love to do this soon but a track only build. I'll be watching this closely.

  4. Well Mark sent me these photos earlier, no turning back now!

its a first mock up to position everything, the tail is going to be dropped a little to close the gap a touch between the base of the tank and the vertical cylinder. I absolutely love it

  6. So gutted that Radical has gone through. Was gonna build a 1098S/1100Evo with a Carbon RAD01 Tank and Tail. But alas they are, as Pepo said to me, closed for business. Enjoy your build mate. End of an era.

  7. A word of caution, I started with the seat unit jacked up like that, it looked lovely. But when you rode it your nuts ended up under your ass as you rode it/braked! No good at all, so I have a spacer that lifts the front to make the seat more level when I ride it.

  8. Cheers for the advice Nick, Mark is going to lower the tail a bit as it is a little high, your comments make a lot of sense :upyeah:

Hamish, it is a real shame about Radical, i just hope Pepo will be back building great bikes in the future

  9. I can't wait to see this project finished - have you already worked out a paintscheme for the bike?

  10. Oh yes, red frame, white tank and seat unit with a central red stripe flanked by 2 thinner green stripes. My take on the tricolore colour scheme

  11. What about the exhausts - are you having a custom made and if so by whom?
    Cheers,
    Moses.

  12. Mark is going to alter the stock exhaust so it exits on one side and I have a stubby SP Engineering can to go on there. He does full custom systems too which I may well switch to in the future.

  13. Im just going to leave this here

  14. Its been a little quiet recently as its the start of the race season and Mark has been busy, however he has managed to get a few bits and pieces done including the new exhaust system.
He sent me through these pictures, it's, er, going to be a little loud i think...

In the next week or 2 the hidden seat support subframe should be finished then i can start thinking about dry building it to see what needs tweaking before the cosmetic work starts.

  17. Swingarm looks the biz. I wish they'd put that on the 999 as stock.

  18. Cheers guys, the seat height is actually a bit of an optical illusion. The ride height adjuster is wound right up and the stand is up on blocks making it artificially higher.

Having said that it is quite high but because its so narrow I can still get both feet flat on the ground

  19. Looks mean as fu.....
