I'd personally prefer to go cross country through Petworth/Horsham way, but may need to bite the bullet and hit the a3/m25? Pete - presumably your route wouldn't cross mine/ours? I'm not bothered as I'm happy to meet at the previously mentioned services, but thought I'd ask all the same...
I love the 272, although a Sunday morning bimble is a little different to the start of the trip. If I get my senses I'll probs catch you on the way past mate (me on at Hindhead tunnel, Paul around Guildford).
Yep, makes sense, if not clacket lane is another good option especially as is may be fuel up time for you there
I'm hoping to make Folkestone on one tank....although I may be on fumes at that point?? To be honest mate I've not really looked at route in detail further than the 272, and as glorious as it sounds, I know in reality I'll probably go to bed late after leaving packing till the last minute and need to spend an extra hour or 2 in bed and take the m25!
I'll be leaving home at 6' its 3 hrs in the car to chunnel but by bike less, that leaves tome for a fill up and get to maidstone services to meet pete easily on time
If I take the m25 I'll be leaving here at 7ish - be at the tunnel 5 mins later, which may be about the same time you're passing?
I plan to fill up at Folkestone Services at 9am as we meet up there, so that the other side I won't need to pfaff about. From East London I take the A13, Dartford Bridge, A2 and M20. So no.
My friend Paul has now booked tunnel and hotel and got himself a shiny new tail pack! He's well up for the trip and agrees with you Bradders about making best speed along a3/m25.
