959 Austin Racing Exhaust Fitted

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by iang27, May 7, 2016.

  1. I like it, simple. I will be giving them a call. I see you got rid of the pillion pegs. Great. One of my only gripes.

Can I just ask what tail tidy you used?

  2. Why do people insist on putting 'marchesini forged' stickers on the rims when they aren't marchesini? I don't get it....

Do Austin make a full system with the end can like that? Or do u have to get the under body system?

  3. Ah Phil it's only a sticker. I've got Disney land on mine and I've never been.

Are you thinking how to get get rid of the massive metal belly tank?

  5. I like the twin akrapovic for the 959. All Ducati dealers seem to have it fitted on their demo bike. Looks cool!

  6. I've spoken to a number of dealers and they've all said the same.. 'People are put off because of the ugly pipes, shame because it's a good bike but we aren't selling them'

Interesting they reported selling a lot of 1299's...

  7. not bad that, I love the twin pipes though, I think people who say they dont like them are lying.
Re- the flapper valve, just cut the cable and pull it out, leave the servo doing its thing.
Get it on a dyno and check the set up with the new exhaust too :upyeah:

  8. Can the standard ecu be flashed or do you need a power commander?

  9. We had a 120 mile run out today and he said he wasn't aware of his heel hitting the exhaust.
I know the wheels are not Marchesini but I don't think he is aware of that.
When we removed the cable from the valve ( just popped out in seconds ) the engine management light came on along with a warning triangle light.
Don't know if these would go out themselves once you got moving.
    Anyone tried ?

From what I have heard the 1299 will have the twin side silencers next year so everyone needs to get used to them by the sound of things.
    Bloody Eu crap !

  10. Will the 1299 ones not just be exactly the same as the 959 system to try and keep the parts the same across both models?

Good news about the heel thing!

  11. Sent them an email. Hope you don't mind that I mentioned that I seen the pipe on this forum.

  12. Vast improvement. I literally laughed out loud when I first saw the original system.

What make is the tinted screen and where from? Also looks good.

  13. I wouldn't bother disabling the flapper value unless you're going to remove it completely, also wouldn't be worry about other people's opinions on what sticker is on a bike, thanks for letting us know about the boot not hitting the exhaust

  14. The tail tidy is an Evotech one, great build quality.
I would buy a Bruudt, had one on my 889.
The screen is a Puig dark tint, he got it from M&S motorcycles in Newcastle but you can get them online quicker.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  15. I think it looks pretty decent. Bet it sounds epic in the flesh :upyeah:

  16. though the twin akras looked shite when i saw them in laguna's yesterday tbh

glad i bought my 899 when i did

  17. I think it looks great and nearly went for it on my 959 but ended up with the 1299 system instead and love it.
My engine light is still on but a trip to my local dealer will sort that (not all dealers have the relevant software).
    See image.
