Ok. I cracked. Just for you Adam @Advikaz 15 minutes with a rag and solvol and that’s as good as it’s going to get. I couldn’t even be arsed to take the springs off. But I just don’t care
Rather financially damaging day over at MSS today sorting out some issues, fitting new bits and mapping her up.
Yesterday was long, eventful and expensive. Massive shout out to Nick and the boys at MSS though who pulled out all the stops in ‘unfucking’ my bike. Arrived early morning, nothing is ever simple is it? The lads read my ecu and found that the previous mapper who for some reason did a ‘race build’ on what is now my bike left the cats in as well as most of the road kit but went to the trouble of cutting the loom down and still leaving virtually everything else on the bike ffs! Not to mention various other worrying things like the routing of the throttle cable. So they spent the morning going through the bike and fixing stuff that an alleged decent tuner had done to it. So anyway, where was I?! Oh yes, the lads read the ecu and found that the previous mapper had locked the ecu to software that nobody else seems to use rendering it fit for the bin (cheers mate). Easiest option was a new ecu (not cheap). I’m not gonna mention the other tuner, but I will never use him, I called him earlier in the week and he told me “the bike was mapped on woolich and had a licence so it’ll be no trouble” for me to find out it was locked, and not woolich. I did call him again and he was a complete wanker about it. Dickhead. Anyway.. fitted the rest of the bits to the bike, got her up on the dyno and she made a whopping 90bhp! Errr somethings wrong here chaps.. Luckily, it was plain to see, even to my eyes that the bike was massively leaning itself like it was hitting a brick wall at 11k. The lads at MSS identified the issue within minutes, take a look at the state of this fuel pump! cleaned out the tank and the pump ran her up again, tweaked the AF and ignition and she made a healthy 120.45bhp.. I’d been warned before hand that the MSS dyno is conservative but, I must say I was expecting a little more. The guys said the worst air pressure they’d ever seen was 994 and mine was 997 so pretty bad, also humidity was high so not ideal conditions for dyno work and suggested on a better day it would be around 125/127. Pretty happy with that. Financial and emotional roller coaster of a day she sounds sweet now though! https://youtube.com/shorts/DQdkjA-fiII?feature=share
