Back Protectors Compulsory

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Expat Jack, Dec 15, 2021.

  1. Should be okay with airbags that have a back protector in, my Tech Air 5 is a CE level 1/2 back protector before it deploys and a level 2/3 when it deploys.

  2. I can only comment on the RST suit. The back protector without airbag inflation is CE1. If I recall correctly, this then jumps up to the highest CR level once the airbag activates. I can personally confirm it works and now I feel under protected when riding without it. The algorithms allow you to set sensitivity for road or track on the same vest from a very simple App.
I have not personally heard of one not activating when needed.
The thread is really about compulsory back protectors on No Limits days (more to come??) though, not airbag suits.

    EDIT. As above. Posts crossed.

  3. Agreed.
I seen and smelt some f*cking horrors at breakfast on some euros!

  4. I am continuously amazed we are allowed to head off to Euro tracks on bikes that are not scrutinereed, go on the piss and whatever else takes your fancy, crash and get treated, then head home.

In today's world of no risk, it stands out as very vulnerable to a wave of elf n safety and eventually banning.

Grab it while you can..... :D

  7. Ixon air bag here...

...but how are they going to police this. Free "feel-up" with every track-day?
