Maybe a moderator can move the thread when convenient, thanks. I will try and be more diligent in future, although my cleaning technique and skills could never be described as detailing
Cleaner: Sdoc100 Shampoo: Anything from Halfords with wax in it. Probably not necessary to use shampoo at all after using a cleaner but it does get water repelling wax into out of reach places which helps fight corrosion and deters grime.
When there are also several other bikes to choose from that cover another c.25k miles a year, I think it's reasonable...
ASDA Car Wash & Wax - 2.5L for £not-many It works well, and makes cars surprisingly shiny. I only started using stuff like this when I read that regular washing-up liquid is salty and not good for bikes or cars.
Castrol Greentec - even better than SDoc! And Mr Sheen Original is an incredibly effective degreaser/gunk remover - spray a load on, wait 30 secs then marvel at how much comes off when you remove it with a microfibre cloth.
First wd40 in a cloth to clean pipes and rims, then motorex bike clean, wash and wipe with microfiber cloth. If needed kerosene on chain clean and dry and then motul c4. At the end with time motorex silicone spray on a microfiber cloth and damn it looks new ;-)
I've used a lot of different shampoos on cars and the best for foaming up was chemical guys maxi suds. Used it on my bike for the first time today. It didn't melt or burst in to flames and it still runs.
