+1 on Jocks advice.. I've a Motobatt on mine & its a great battery, lasts forever off charge & turns her over (slightly) quicker that the standard battery it replaced... Good advice on the meatier battery connections too.. I'll look into that myself
If you look at the ignition you will see a "P" next to the word lock, in this position it leaves the tailight and riding light on.
Well, the green light is showing on the optimate so all I can do now is refit the battery and run the tests hutch has suggested, I have an awful feeling though that as Al has pointed out I left the bike in park mode. I'm hoping this is the case but time will tell, at least I know how to check if my rectifier is working properly. Paul
Hutch, bike started OK this morning, checked voltage on the way to work and it was reading 14.3V,although still need to check with fans going etc. started OK after coming out of work so I reckon Al was right and I turned the key one notch too many (what a fool) Thanks to everyone that responded, Paul
Do you have a link to your Motobatt battery please Hutch? Or can anyone point me in the direction of the Yuasa one to get? Thanks.
