Battery Relocation

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by Pablo Pirate, Mar 8, 2012.

  1. I'll take that little beauty off your hands matey :D PM me with some details.

    Ian.

  2. Howdo!!!

How's it going Pepsi? Your bike on your Avatar looks spot on.

Ahhhhhhhhhh Slug Balancer!!! Ohhhhh how we laughed ;)

PC310 is a good battery mate (Cranks those low comp 2valves of yours over don't they) Also better at starting in colder weather. Will fit a carbon guard one day!! Just need a holiday to the Chech Republic.

As for the hoses, one on the left goes from the engine to the 6litre breather box, right hand side - breather box - corse reed valve in the airbox.

You weighed or dyno'd your Picaso Superlight????:p

  3. Which one Ian?

Fishhead there was a mudguard/numberplate holder carbon jobbie one German eBay about two weeks ago.... if you want one I will keep my eye out for you...I am usually on German Italian Australian and yank ebay more often than UK...you can find some real rare treats.... a couple of years ago I got two standard 2 Valve magnesium valve covers from ebay.de.. then last week got another on ebay.it. Last year got a complete set of pantah (finned) valve covers in magnesium from a chap in Sweden selling on ebay.com...or .de cant remember.

I got all of my carbon jobbies on german ebay....instrument surrounds, carbon valve covers and the mudguard/numberplate holder and the 'tool tray' all from there!

havent wieghed or dyno'd the bike yet mate...it still isnt complete! got the Mag wheels to go on and change the speedo...yet again for a differnt type...cant be doing with this innacurate electric one!... the missus can have that on her bike :)

  4. The one for the standard size battery fella. I have a PC680 which is the same size roughly as the std battery on the old SS and I'm looking at ditching the whole airbox completely in favour of pod filters so it would be ideal I think for this :D

  5. Ok mate send me a PM with your address and when I am home again next weekend I will send it off to you!

  6. Will do George, back in uk tonight so will do it tomorrow

  7. Pc310

Photo's seem to have gotten a bit fcuked up on this thread

Do I take from all of above that I will be fine with a PC310 on my project (94mm JE HC, 16mm sq power and earth leads)? Had a PC680 on my 748/853 and it was excellent, so I have a bit of brand loyalty going on.

  8. Howdo Pict.

F%$k knows what's happened to the pics??? Ran couple Odyssey's on my Superlight no problem - last being the PC310 started my 944 Hi-comp engine & ST3 Hi-comp engine (Stuck it in my GSXR 1000 still going strong) only changed to a Ballistic due to the V.light weight. Only thing to note is the terminal threads are quite small (female M5 I think).

    Cheers Pablo

  9. Thanks Pablo - The data sheet says M4 . Think I'll still terminate the (new, 126/0.40 - 16mm2) cable in a M6 ring and make up a wee 'top hat' to sit in it with a 4mm hole. Won't make any swarf until I have the battery in my hand though. I'll post a pic in my build thread on DuN when I get round to it :upyeah:

  11. Well I bought the Hein Gericke Lithium battery.
Loads of power starts the 900ss and the 999s no probs. about a third of the weight of the original battery.
