Be Wiser Insurance Avoid!!

Discussion in 'Insurance - Sponsored by Ducati Insurance' started by Bazz, Aug 8, 2014.

  1. Companies are now aware that people air their grievances on social media and employ staff to monitor sites etc and to try to solve the issue there and then

  2. "After being promised numerous call backs from sales advisers and about 4 different managers i didn't hear a thing! I called at least 12 times chasing up managers since Wednesday and no one could be bothered to tell me what was happening as only managers have the authority to do that. I finally get a call yesterday from a manager who says they cant find anyone who will insure me now even with 0 no claims, i am going to be charged for the amount of time i was covered"

Seems like this is what he did, although not wanting to wait 6 months for an ombudmen decision, took it on social media.

I'm no fan of social media, but without him resorting to twitter, I'm sure he would still be no further forward this morning, the insurance company were happy to fob him off until that point.

  3. you dont have to wait 6 months for the ombudsman's decision, i took those rats MCE to the ombudsman and it was all sorted in just under 6 weeks, in my favour

    best decision i ever made

  4. There's absolutely nothing wrong with airing a genuine complaint on social media. It's a great way to solicit a response from a company. Why people are shy of complaining about poor service or follow etiquette set by these organisations for fear of being put at a disadvantage I'll never understand.

  5. That require the same sort of “etiquette” being shown by the company you’re in dispute with.

Something that the insurance industry has no comprehension of what so ever.

  8. @Sev My trusty wife got on her twitter basically saying I hadn't been treated well and wanted to speak to a manager, hashtagged poor customer service and a few other words and then other companies were retweeting and tweeting bewiser telling them to sort it out. They then said if we get someone to call your husband within the next 30 mins could she stop tweeting

I wish now i had taken it down the ombudsman route because I have to pay a little more on my bike, car insurance (about £200 difference a year on my policies) because I have had insurance cancelled, it even has an impact on my wife's insurance as i'm a named driver on her policy! Even though it was their fault my policy had to be cancelled I have to declare this for 5 years and also this information is stored on a national database which all insurers have access to. So over 5 years time i would have paid approximately £2k more on all my insurance, not sure if the ombudsman could of taken this into account or got me removed from this database?

  9. No they didn't cancel her policy,I just meant by me having a cancelled policy by my name, when she adds me on her insurance as a named driver it puts the premium up just that bit more than it would do had i not had insurance cancelled.

My wife and I don't have much luck with insurance, Nov 2014 our neighbour across the road lost her mind for no reason and tried to attack my wife, luckily managed to push her out of our house but then went to her garage to get a carving knife and proceeded to stab our door, windows and my wifes car to death! Had enough of that so she decided to smash up the wifes car with rock ornaments from our neighbours, then set out on the rest of the street. The guy paid out of his own pocket for damages to other cars on the street and our house. But because my wife had a company car it had to go through her companies insurance and now have to declare that a claim was made even though not at fault. If it hadn't have been a company car it could have been repaired outside of insurance and would not have to pay the extra premiums now which is a bummer. But i suppose its sort of justified as the area could be classed as high risk and the fact the nutter still lives across the way!
