  1. I like the 1199r tank, maybe copy that? If you have it, flaunt it lol!

  2. Argonaut, BEAUTIFUL tank. I have been eyeing them up in the event of ethanol increasing in UK fuels.

Apologies for the newbie question, but is that a breather pipe in the top of the tank? If so do you know why the Beater tank has it and the standard tank doesn't? Where are you routing the breather pipe too?

Will be great to see some pics when you have it painted - and great choice on the subtle approach.

  3. Yes, it's a breather tube that goes all the way inside the tank up to the filler neck where there is a small spherical valve/vent head internally.

The standard tank does have a breather valve/overflow, I remember overfilling my tank once and excess fuel pissing all over the floor. You'll find the Breather tube on the RHS of the tank underneath it, you'll see two small sections of rubber hose, which go into a Y-piece and then down the RHS of the engine and into the belly pan.

I bought a few metres of red translucent silicone hose on ebay a while ago, so I'll just use a length of that, and route it down past the radiator and into the belly pan, along with the airbox vent tube.

The tank should be painted and ready by the end of this coming week with some luck. It needed a lot of prep work for a good finish so they are thankfully taking their time, perfectionists that they are, however it is costing me a fair bit. I'm hoping the final result will be worth the wait.

As ever, I'll post pics when it's done. I'm having some custom airbrushing work done on it, so I am somewhat nervous, in case it doesn't look right.

  4. So the reason for the new tank is more fuel capacity and maybe a lighter tank, (without fuel)
