next time bulldog clip a cover over the plate. not allowed to be removed from what i understand. works for me in london....
You may get a course, do it and no points. Insurance company needn’t know either. You are not obliged to tell them if they ask.
Not quite. You’re not allowed to cover up the number plate on purpose, but say if you were cleaning your bike!! and leave a cloth hanging over the number plate and along comes a parking nazi who wants to get your reg, they cannot touch the towel. So if you hide the number plate you can get done for it(unlikely and unlucky) But parking pataweyo cannot touch your vehicle.
my ex girlfriend who had been parking her scooter illegally outside Scotland yard for 15 years i dont use her bulldog clip technique but put a cover over the whole bike and have never had a ticket when working in london. one of the wardens used to try and get me early before the bike had cooled enough to cover but as it was before 8am he couldn't do shit. at 8 he would knock on the door of the house i was working at (as he'd seen me go iin there) and ask me to move the bike, id tell him i had no idea whos bike it was...this was in Holland park and went on for 12 months so i know they cant touch the bike and obviously dont seem to be able to get plod involved...
Hate to be one that says it because I think the police would do a better job being on foot in town centres showing a visual presence, but other than using the wrong terminology he was doing his job and did it well. You broke the law and instead of saying “bollocks to it I can’t be arsed“ and carrying on he busted you fair and square! Personally I’d of turned off a side road and nailed it. Most patrol cars have the power of a sowing machine and couldn’t catch a cold.
I asked what the ticket could mean and he gave that as an example. I've never made brushing with the law a habit mate I have no clue to the ins and outs of terminology or what not. The points or whatever I get it's fine, only have a van on the road atm and that's only £250 quid, can't go up that much more. Yeah as I mentioned in the title and the elongated whinge I was caught fair and square but what wound me up was the cocky comment said while grinning and then the manoeuvre he proceded to conduct right in front of me. Yeah read above, doing the time is not what's really bothering me here.
In the words of the all wise Bananarama, 'It's not what you do.it's the way that you do it'. Yeah - Plod ought to be doing their job, but no need to be arrogant, rude, condescending, all powerful twat about it. Which sadly, seems to be part of the job description/ training program for traffic.
crossing a white line is fine and 3 points.... there may be the opportunity to do an awareness course instead....Some may refer to this as a speed awareness course as thats how they started..but they now include other offences... google TTC ... they deliver a lot of them including D and C https://www.thettcgroup.com/police-court-referred-courses/
Fair point. It was takeaway don't forget, but it may have been longer, especially as my cousin wanted a skinny chai latte with oatmeal or something like that.
Yes & no... Take the course, it boring, but its not exactly hardship. Enjoy the track when you get there.
And I disagree. "just doing my job" is an excuse used to justify all sorts of nasty behaviour. If society didn't have some smoothing round the edges it would break down. Wisdom is sadly lacking in a lot of police people. A good police officer is the best person you will ever meet. A bad one is dreadful. That was an example of appalling policing imho. Unnecessary, antagonistic and to what end? A quiet word would have been more useful, efficient and positive.
Through that one action, he has pretty much just alienated one person into disliking all coppers. Yes very nieve of me to think this way but unconsciously I cant help it. To be fair he’s probably done me a favour, all the hazards I noticed in those 45 miles for a 2 wheeled journey had me shaking my head for the majority of it, I was going to do another 200 on top. Again not knocking those that choose to ride on rode. Also I remember about 7 years ago on the way back to camp I was pulled doing 115mph by coppers in Cumbria in my EP3 Type R and after a chat they let me off, should of lost my license for that one. When you prof ya prof and when you don’t then hey ho, shit happens.
I note your Disagreement with my post, Ive made it clear I’m content I deserve the wrap for the offence in numerous separate posts on the thread mate. What gripes me is the way the little gimp conducted himself.
I feel for you mate, I was holding my phone in my hand, not even using it at that second and I got done with 6 points, last October. Insurance up 30%. It’s bloody annoying. It works both ways. Many moons ago, I clocked a biker doing 41 in a 30 and pulled him over. My intention was to give him a verbal “chill mate, a little”. Before I said hello, he folded his arms and said “Haven’t you got anything better to do?”..... He walked away with tickets for illegal exhaust, illegal visor, small number plate and speeding. As I walked away I said “Thanks for the pointless attitude”. Some people just deserve a verbal kicking. My worst encounters with the police have been traffic cops. Take the course, it’s boring as fuck but better than the other options....
