And there was I thinking that people polished cranks and con rods to make them less liable to cracking...
the frictional losses mitigated by polishing the inside of the cases and components is in the scheme of things not that great noods, but lovely work none the less. Will you be super-finishing any of your innards? Ohhh, DLC coating on cam lobes... suits you sir.
Hi Noods, First of all, what cracking job, all that shinny shinny stuff Some guys like porn hub and some spend their weekends alone in the garage, browsing Ducati forums ) I'm some sort of 'perfectionist' myself, so I'm looking for means to polish my aluminum and steel parts. Any tips on tools/consumables/techniques ? I already have a bench grinder, some sisal wheels, brass brushes, and lots of different grits of auto sandpaper (100-2000 grit). What do you use? Please add pictures and a detailed explanation. For the technically challenged ducatistas, i mean(myself included) ) I want an aluminum finish for the triples, engine case bits, swing arm. Also, any tips on maintaining the aluminum finish? We have some aluminum protective spray available, temperature resistant, but i live by the seaside, so weather is a factor too. been thinking of getting the whole Dremel system, including a vice, to into the hard bits, but I'm sure you used something else, right? Thanks and keep scrubbing at it! Mihai
