I totally agree with you, though if you want to keep the FSH then you need to do them at the time Ducati state. Mine's in tomorrow for them doing. I am sure the belt would be good for another year, even two, but it is what it is.
I have a multi and a 998, multi belts get done every 5 years, it gets used quite a bit. 998 every 4 years, or so. Very little mileage, pampered, everything inspected regularly. Never had a problem, belts look pretty much like new when changed.
Really, is that what they said? I was under the impression the desmo service is a lot more Labour than a belt service which is why it’s as much as it is?
Well that’s what they’ve led me to believe. The cost of my belt service with brake and clutch fluid change was £506 (with me providing the oil) so I am expecting around £500 next year for the Desmo.
