Best Bikes to buy as Investments?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Dave, Oct 12, 2013.

  1. I need somewhere to store them first. But the idea of buying bikes for investment is growing on me. My only real issue is being able to liquidate the quick enough. Like when we 'need' a new kitchen...

  2. Had the same dilema and luckily there is a secure temp controlled/24hr manned place within 5 miles @ £9 a week!

They can also provide chargers/cocoons dor less than a £5 weekly

The way I see it 4-500 a year "worst ways" based on 12 months - likely 6-9 minths as they will be used occasionally and kept at home for a period.

If they go up 3-4 a year you are covered, get to ride them and make more/sime money as the bank rate is useless

    Win win win.....

  3. Don't get the maths there. How will adding mileage and reducing the condition put the value up by hundreds a year? Thats cheap for storage tho :) But I'd want something like @Exige setup so I can go look at them

    My dream investment garage....
    Suzuki TS 50 (first bike)
    RD125LC (first road bike)
    RD350LC
    RD500LC
916 of any variant AND 748 SP
    Tiger model CBR 900 Fireblade
    888 of any variant
    1098R

Things to enjoy looking at and sitting on and making noises.

  4. £ - wasnt clear - 3-4 hundred pounds not miles

  5. I don't have the cash currently to buy a bike purely as an investment. I'm just getting bikes that shouldn't lose money unless i damage them or put on a shed loads of miles. 996 and 999 "should" be worth more than i paid for them BUT that's based on sales prices on eBay, etc, who knows what they actually sell for. Seen a lot of bikes at reasonable prices not sell over the last few months.
