  1. Always liked these, nearly bought one before I found out I could afford a 996.

  5. That colour-scheme was never actually produced, but the traditional Benelli green & silver is hard to beat...

  6. Yeah may well have been, TT I spotted my first Lemon at Bill Fleming's in Springburn where he had that big Fuck Off Showroom with all sorts in it. Wish it was still there

Now I'll get off of here as I'm probably hogging, but although not the prettiest, this was an interesting concept. To me Laverda were the Lancia of Italian bikes produced all sorts of wonderful stuff, but never seemed to do that well. I still think they are stunning. Another first they did was rob off the Japanese. Apparently that lovely finning on the engines of the twins was nicked from Honda

  8. Maybe it's because it embodies all the things that motorbikes mean to me at this moment in time but I honestly have never found anything that I thought was more beautiful than the Panigale. I still find it odd that there are people that just do not like them! There are a couple of angles that do not look so good in pictures particularly but they are few. I love the MV Agustas but up close I found some of the components looked a bit cheap. Those classic MVs are seriously awesome mind.

  10. I always liked these :)
Has anyone ridden or owns one? - how does the underseat rad work in the real world?
Does your bum roast - and does it behave itself or does it overheat?

  11. I went to look at a Divi for my sister in Bournemouth just before Christmas and they had one tucked in the corner, I asked the guy what he thought of it, his reply was "pile of f&$king s%"t, I rode it to the end of the road and left it there and made my partner go and fetch it". Don't think he was a fan.

You can still buy "brand new" 900 ones still in the crate for £6k on 0%.

  12. I've only had the most fleeting glimpse of one in the flesh let alone ridden one. I thought it was beautifully put together, the components top notch and that tail beautifully made.

I've heard someone rave about riding one.

  13. The one in the picture is mine, at Snetterton a couple of years ago. I don't track it anymore as parts are rather rare...

It's a lovely bike to own, gets lots of attention everywhere you park up. Taller and a bit heavier than the 999 but steering is sharp and the triple engine is a peach - much smoother than it sounds ;-)

You'd never know the radiator was under the seat- you don't feel the heat at all, unlike the 999's exhaust.. Makes a better road bike than the 999 as it's much more bearable in traffic.

Like all niche / low production volume bikes it has its foibles and you need to find a good one, but they are lovely.. And cheap these days.

  14. From the reading up I did there were 5 recalls that needed doing, if these were done, and they do them if you buy a "new" crated one, they are fine, or so I was told. Apparently a few issues when new really hit the reputation badly.

I've always loved them and as you can pick them up for about £3500 they must only be going up from here.

  15. Giulio Alfieri designed the V6 engine, which is essentially a smaller Maserati. Pity Alfieri didn't get to design more motorbikes.
