No not at all, it's just what I have experienced in quite a few of my super bike buys, and if the wife is trying to make you sell it just tell her you may keep it as an ornament in the hall. That will brighten her christmas, all joking apart why are you getting a valuation from a dealer . I can't have her as no more room for any more bikes ( well maybe just a small one ).
no didn't mean anything by it wasn't sure if it was for me to reply,,i put 1500 miles on in less than 2 months riding so it was used and my wife doesn't give a hoots how many bikes I have , had 3 last year inc bsb superstock s1000rr and cbr1000rr ,so shes quite happy to let me do my own thing, the valuations have been part ex prices against some thing different ,don't think the panni is anything like its cracked up to be ,may have a deal sorted tomorrow watch this space ,, and I certainly aint frightened of the power ,had race bikes with 30bhp more cheers
All sounds good then except the valuation offered, and interesting your views on the panni . I would be interested in what your replace her with, I don't need any more bikes I can't ride all the ones I have now, although a panni may come to be added to my little collection one day. Lastly what are your main reasons of disappointment in the panni and good luck with the next buy or deal.
to me it gives no feedback on whats happening ,the front wont tighten the line when you want it to, the exhaust burns your right thigh, ive had loose breather hoses under the tank, a new gear lever quickshifter assembly, a new clutch slave cylinder ,you cant change tyres from the o/e spec because you wont be insured ,the throttle response is choppy at lower revs, im no bsb star btw but I get round a track ok ,ive had a lot better bikes and a lot less hassle off them and for paying 20k with as many faults and other peole have also had problems don't think its the bike it should be ,and now theres a thread on loose front monocock bolts just not for me ,yes im gonna take a hit but why worry just got to get on with it ,
Blimey it does sound as though it's not been a great buy, I would have given it back with all that going on. I think us British don't demand a better service enough we almost accept the situation whereas abroad people just demand there money back. I tend to work on the how good is the after service once the dealer has got your money, a good example is I called 3 MV Agusta dealers last week regarding my F4 RR and out of the 3 only 1 called back so I will now use them, some dealers don't help themselves . Whatever you replace it with I hope it's a pain free enjoyable ride.
cheers mate I wont be giving it away but think [hopefully] may have a deal tomorrow ,was actually looking at the f4r on u tube tonight have you got one ,think they have been updated this year if im correct
I have the F4 RR 312 1078 the 2010 model the last version before the changes and I love it as part of my collection . I sold my Aprilia RSV Factory and always said the only other bike I would add to my collection was the MV F4 so went and found one . The only big problem is the dealers are very very few and far between.
Gap is class. I totalled a car last year and the return to invoice Gap was a lifesaver after the loss adjuster came out and tried to do the back scuttle manoeuvre. ..
I have never bought new, whether it be a bike or car simply because the depreciation in the first couple of years is enough to make me weep. I like to keep the value of the vehicle higher than the amount of money I owe on it (if I buy on Finance) so I don't have to bother paying for GAP or such like and if the worst happens the insurance will at least wipe out the debt. This doesn't happen with new as the vehicle always depreciates faster than the amount owing. I bought my Pani S for 16K from a Ducati dealer when it was 10 months old with 1500 miles on the clock, serviced and with the extended warranty will give me the peace of mind of a new one. The guy who PX'd it must have taken a hell of hit on it. Everyone's opinion about new vs second hand varies but in my eyes a bike with 1500 miles on it is practically new and the dealer offering you 12K knows it and will take it off you at the back door, wheel it straight threw into the show room and put a 'for sale' sign on it for 17K. Why not try selling it private for somewhere in between ?
cheers big M got a few options at the moment just travelled 20 miles to the local mv dealer only to find its closed down ,you know when you get that feeling like your pissing in the wind
Sorry to hear that Jimmy, I did mention that is MV'S biggest problem at the moment , it's a real shame as they now have quite a good line up of models but no bloody dealers to sell them. This is all meant to change in the next few months as MV have done away with the old UK importer and are now doing everything direct from the factory and they assure me things will improve for the better so fingers crossed. Although if your are looking for the F4 phone up a few different dealers in the country as there are big price differences from one dealer to the next even more so than other brands / dealers.
Excellent last few posts boys there is a lot of useful information to the point and very informative and above all factual this has been a pleasure to follow well done
