best place to buy main crank bearings

  1. Thanks!
They're the exact numbers I've been given by one of the guys on the 851 forum. I don't know what the difference is between a 'TB' and an 'ETN'. Going to call a dealer for a price later

  2. it's easy to get both mains in an ETN grade, which is standard, but the TB means precision grade, and they're tricky and expensive to get hold of, so I went to a main dealer for the mains. the rest i'll get from simply bearings, even in a C3 [high] grade they about 40% the cost of dealer prices.
thanks all for your help and advice

  3. i know where there is a 7307X2ETN for more reasonable £

pm me if you want it

  4. thanks for the offer, i'm going with the precision grade from a main dealer, i don't want to be back in that crankcase again!

  5. I got my bearings from the main dealer MotoRapido in the end. And guess what they're both ETN grade which i could have got from a bearing supplier. The one is supposed to be a TB, which is precision grade. Which in itself make no sense as they're both on the same shaft at the same speed and most likely similar loadings.
I'm now looking for a bearing bush, as the old bearing had spun in the bush and it's no longer an interference fit. The bush is £93. It's a common failure and often over looked. There's about 0.08mm clearance.

  6. Interesting. Is that official Ducati boxed and badged?

  7. yes, ducati boxed with the correct part numbers! you order on the part number, not the bearing manufacturers number. If i'd known they'd be ETN's i'd have got them from a bearing supplier!
