I have never really ran a bike in but I have always taken it easy for the first 6 or 7 hundred miles, I always drop the first oil out early (did the multi at 3,000) to flush away the crap that you will find in the first oil. Re the comments about running in oils, cheap minerals etc etc - Dont do it to a modern engine, we use oils that can cope with high stresses because we run high performance engines, there will always be people who tell you that they haven't had a problem and that's probably true but why take the chance with your pride and joy.
