Go into the menu on the bike and make sure the preload for the rear shock is set at 24 for 2+ luggage ( that’s max) I can’t remember what stock is but anything will help
OK - is that one of the large nuts on the rear axle? The preload I'll check anyway, just need to find some scales....
Nooooo Gunz has the Enduro with a normal swingarm The SSA models have a nut on one side to Hold the sprocket carrier in and a nut on the other to Hold the wheel on… no adjustments are possible
I have a ‘17 DVT S (with Skyhook) and it naturally drifts left, has a very light front end at high speed and shook its head under full acceleration when I got it. The drifting seems least pronounced when on Michelin Road 5 and it’s very picky about pressures. MRA screen or an Enduro / Pikes Peak screen seems to improve the aero. Screen down for high speeds seems best. Two up or heavily loaded, just relax and enjoy better MPG sub-90’ish. Head shaking was tempered (but not cured) by increasing rear preload and setting front to factory (it wasn’t at factory from the factory…). TBH I love the thing, its friskiness makes me smile. It’s not a sportsbike. My BMW XR was no more stable and my GS gets a bit light at the front end when two up or loaded too.
Right OK then...... no adjustments on rear. As mentioned I'll get weighed. What's the factory front preload setting? FWIW I have new Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE on mine.
Yes all the suspension set up will help....but....at the end of the day it's not a sportsbike, you've come from a sportsbike (me too, and plenty of others), don't try and ride the absolute wheels off it, ( yes it can shift), but you need to just enjoy the ride, once you try to really push, it'll tie itself up in knots.
Add a steering damper, they can be discrete so as not to annoy the fruitloops that moan about 'em not being needed and they do sort any flightiness. Win Win
Was thinking about this - standard fit on the KTM Super Adventure S that I had - a bike with similar characteristics at higher speeds.
I bought mine from here - but you do need a damper as well https://www.cncracing.com/en/product/steering-damper-kit-ducati-multistrada-950-1200-1260-11578.html You can also adapt the standard fit damper kit from a Multistrada Enduro too, but that is not adjustable of course
It's worth going through the Skyhook settings, especially if it's a used bike as you never know what the previous owner changed the settings to, reset them to standard and go from there. As others have said, set the front preload manually as described.Touring and Urban I've left pretty standard but Sport I have the rear preload pretty high on mine, 22, that raises the rear to put more weight on the front end, also have the suspension set to med/hard both ends. I don't get any worrying head shake in sport when pushing on, not even on trackdays when really on it.
Everything already reset to default. I'm just starting to tweak stuff. I have a small leak at the LH fork seal (well I don't, the bike does). I'm leaving the front end until that's fixed.
Thanks for all the response from my original thread. Has anyone replaced the rear spring themselves? I’m sailing to Spain on the 22nd and if I replace the spring myself it could be possible to get the suspension sorted before the trip
Providing you can get it compressed without taking your head off should be same as any other spring swap
