Was offered a FZR750R OW01 with slight cosmetic damage for very little a few years back, kick myself for turning that down. Along with all the exotica (RC45, D16RR etc) I would love a Suzuki TL1000R, even though I know they were hated, I have a soft spot for them..

I never got that Senna thing. Why did MV and Ducati produce Senna bikes? Did he do a lot of bike racing? He wasn't Italian. He may have been an ace behind the wheel but he didn't seem a particularly fun, engaging and charismatic figure. I mean, would you want a Schumacher Ducati?

I used to spend a lot of time in the galleria bimota,who were always very good to me even though they knew I didn't have a pot to piss in. I always did like the DB2 and the tesi second generation and E.f. And I've always loved the 888 sp bikes for the same reason I love the 900ss and that's because my first glimpses of them were with family sitting in a piazza in Italy hearing 'that noise' bouncing off the buildings in the narrow streets before he popped out.
So now we know. I suppose I should be looking more frequently at Wikipedia instead of asking inane questions. So if I've got this right, all you need to do is buy a bike company, have a mate that likes the products you make and then call one after him. Still seems all quite tenuous to me.
Like so many 'dream' bikes ...... they aren't as good as your mind always wanted them to be .......... With very few exceptions, the stuff from 60's/70's/80's would get absolutely trounced by a modern CB500, not just 'round a racetrack, but also on the road in terms of comfort and reliability! Those 'rose tinted' glasses can end up putting a huge hole in your bank balance!
Agreed - do you recall you wood-chip on the walls, no not that, the classic car frenzy a few decades ago? The money that was blown on e-types and the like. I recon first drive the purchaser would be thinking - Hmmmmmmmmm....
I initially thought that about the 848 when I bought it a month ago.........but it just took some getting used to :smile:
