  1. That's been my point all along, the delivery was poor even if the subject matter was valid.

  6. For fucks sake guys, knock it on the head will you or this forum will go the same way as Ducatisti! The guy has offered to make parts, if you're not happy to send him yours to use as a pattern then don't. Last time I looked we were all adults, so let's start acting like it! My 6 year old could've written half the posts on here.....

For what it's worth I have no issue with posting parts to the OP. If someone wanted to scam me I'm sure they'd be interested in more than a pair of yokes or other such stuff. I'm glad we have someone here who seems genuine to me and has made a very good offer to help guys get trick parts.

  13. Hmm, got my 998 part stripped but not sure what would count as a "trick billet" part to drive up to the op. any hints for a mere elastictrickery engineer that would benefit both parties would be appreciated (already got a pocket for my tax disk).

  14. OK CC I've got something I'll happily send you. They are Ducati Performance Rearsets for the 748-998 range. They should be a doddle to model & machine as they're such a simple design, originals are pretty difficult to get hold of and stupidly expensive. They make a big difference to the feel of the bike and there are plenty of owners out there who could benefit.
This photo gives you a pretty good idea of what they look like although these are not DP originals they look identical. Let me know what you think :upyeah:

  16. Guys, can I just point out that this is at best copyright infringement and at worst theft. Copying parts that someone else has designed is illegal. Copying a few parts that aren't available from the factory to keep a bike running is one thing. Trying to set up a business on the back of someone else's skill and hard work is something else.

  17. Who's the copyright holder? There are many of these available on the net from as little as £100 a set CNC Ducati 748/916/996/998 Rearsets footpegs foot pegs | eBay. There are peeps selling Corse ones for upto £350 too. So getting these right is complex process. Cost engineering becomes a major factor.

  18. well, I'd say Ducati Performance probably hold the copyright to the DP rearsets...

And just because someone in China doesn't care about copyright doesn't mean that we can ignore it here. What's difficult to understand? Like I said, if a part isn't available through the normal channels and won't be produced again, I don't see a real problem in remanufacturing - if the copyright holder isn't producing the part and you're not producing in massive numbers, I think it's ok to produce parts to keep bikes running. To blatantly copy something that's readily available is just legally and morally wrong.

  19. That's the trouble with the black market. It's utterly immoral. But just sooo tempting...
