Bitching And Whining Thread

  1. Now you are just being silly and female. A redundant pairing of adjectives if ever there was one!

  2. So, I have managed to fix the file-sharing facility on my home network.

The problem seems to have been updates 1709, and then 1803, for Windows 10. The updates included some changes to how Windows starts up the services that file sharing on a local network requires to work. I have undone these changes and voila, file sharing occurs. Wondrous.

I know why M$ did this. Why would a user need local file sharing when his data is all on OneDrive, in the Cloud? Well the answer, Micro$oft is - because.
So they mess with the users' stuff and lead/force him into the paid-for Cloud offering. Fuckers. Get lost.

Now fuck off spuriously "fixing" my working-just-fine PCs, yeah?

  3. Beginning to believe that statement.

I should have realised I was in trouble when work starting firing off a million internal email bulletins regarding Build 1803 : o (

  4. Does this thread need to be merged with every other thread into one big "F Off" bitching and whining thread?

    Asking for a friend ;)

  6. So why exactly did Build 1709 turn off SMBv1 on two of my PCs but left it running on a third? Hmm?

    Answer that, Mr Smartyman.

  11. QUOTE FROM A FRIEND :- would blend nicely with "Off Topic thread" for starters @El Toro - you could keep an eye on all us troublemakers then :innocent: END QUOTE.

  12. No no Chris!

The "Off-topic Thread" is for frolicsome fun!

The "Bitching and Whining Thread" is a continuation of the old Piss & Vinegar thread which was, quite literally, awesome.

  13. what? - i didn't send that.. I think we ought to split the Forum in two personally, we could have one section dealing with very serious/never entertain the slightest idea of a joke - ever/nil even hinted sarcasm, wit etc threads and then the other section (around 95% memory space allocation) for everyone else.

  18. That's something I have been pondering for a while now. I have always just shrugged in the past but now is the time ...

    "Welcome along"

This is a phrase I have seen in increasing use over the past few years.

Where did it come from? Who made it popular? What does it mean, exactly? Is there an argument for re-instating capital punishment for people who use it repeatedly?

  20. So, a flight from Wuhan of British nationals is set to be flown in to Brize Norton shortly. Passengers will be quarantined in a facility in the Wirral (spell checker wanted to change Wirral to "Viral").

Included in the flight will be "50 non-British nationals".

    Why?
Is it like a duty-free thing? "I'm entitled to bring back a couple of non-Brits as carry-on, and that's precisely what I'm doing".
