Right... Done a job for a guy (Tim) 2 years back, his builder at the time had cocked up his kitchen, left it half done then died of a heart attack (as it turns out probably caused Tim). I got called in coz i Know his step dad and fixed and completed his job for a mates rate price and in double quick time. He was well chuffed (and he's a fussy difficult fvker to deal with) but he tells me that in about 2 years he's going to buy a bigger place and wouldn't even think about gettin anyone but me to do the work. true to his word he rings me sep last year, says he's gettin this place, asks some advice and say he wants me there end of oct. beginning of oct i goes and views job with him and architect, its all good, im to do the loft and rear extention and full refurb through out and use his guys (turf layers) as labor as they have not much work in winter.. Start in 2 weeks. I agree, dont take on nuthing else and then a week later its been put off till mid November... No prob i say and find something else.. He rings 1st week nov to see if i can start in two weeks.. no prob.. i turn down a 6 month job due to stat at same time (partly because to far away but i would do it) couple of days before start another delay... mid dec.. Mean while hes gone to a party and met a long lost cousin who has a loft company and is going to do the first fix for him..No prob (who wants to first fix a loft in winter) so another delay mid jan start now but 100% and so sorry to do this again but hey thats the building game eh? Mid jan turns to first week of feb (monday of this week) rings me friday wont be till next monday but haha thats the building game eh? but dont worry once you get in there, theres 4 months work. I ask him are you sure this time as im turning down and puttin of work... 100% he says.. I jokingly say i think you better buy me a beer one day for being a pain in the arse. Thats the building game he says. Just now he has text me, Chizel, sorry to have messed you about but you calling me a pain in the arse the other day coz im running a bit behind has really grated on me and i cant see this working out. dont want to be a burden to you so press on with your other jobs... Im 99% sure he'll ring in a few weeks with a "i was just a lil stressed but i forgive you" story and making out like he's doin me a favor... thats how twats like this roll. Ive been on site for 28 years now and can smell em... unfortunately in tough times you still have to deal with em but there is a limit.. what pisses me off most is iv'e not let down, but couldn't accommodate decent people because this prick has kept me hanging.. Fortunately i was offered a months work last week and confirmed it tonight after this guys text. start monday for a client who could be more different to that fool in his approach to getting his projects done successfully
