To make the gold look great I think you would have to do the frame as well like the old 916. There's nothing wrong with the old style on modern bikes though. Did you see that Pani that Foggy took around Donington? But for now i think black wins it for me.

 

We use a clear coating at work that glows purple under UV light. To show up missed parts, thin coating etc.
I had a few carbon bits sprayed with it to save me buying lacquer.
Looked like the bastard Ready Brek bike in sunlight. It had to come off. Glad i never did the wheels as I intended.
