  2. If you fit these @yellowducmaniac you will only have one cat in the system. The cats are located in the horizontal link pipe and standard muffler. Since the standard muffler isn't fitted to your bike this leaves just one. I have a termi slip on fitted to standard pipes which has given me no problems what so ever. If anything it's made the power delivery slightly smoother! I was advised against doing this but it soon got the better of me as I had the Termi muffler starring at me on the floor every time I opened the garage door up. I'm sure it was laughing !(?)
Obviously a rolling road tune wouldn't do me any harm. Maybe I get round to it sometime this year.
With the standard muffler fitted you'll find the heat it gives off is incredible and can be quite uncomfortable at low speeds.
There's a bike shop near me who sells a small selection of used parts and I noticed he had a termi muffler lying around when I was in there the other month. Might be worth a try to see if it's still there?
    Allenby motorcycles 01245 348100.
Personally I'm not that keen on the Remus system but that's only my opinion. It beats the hell out of me why these systems are so expensive. Years ago I changed the muffler on my old RSV for a fraction of the price of a used termi and that was new!

  3. Thanks for that Mongoose,i will try Allenby's...I might get lucky!

I guess I will eventually have to shell out relatively big bucks for a used termi box, been doing quite a bit of googling re; the remus with fairly mixed results, the more info I get the more reluctant i'm becoming about getting one, for the time being it looks like i'll be riding a quieter bike for a while until funds improve enough for me to get a termi box...there are a couple on UK ebay for silly money, and a couple in Holland for a bit less, my mechanic is doing his best to try and source me one as well ,fingers crossed!....if anyone has a spare one on here for sale please let me know.

I'm used to riding a loud Ducati, i suppose its all part of the appeal...

  4. Good news this morning, have been able to source a replacement termi box for reasonable money.

  5. You've done well @yellowducmaniac . It took me the best part of a year to find a reasonable priced one. I found it shocking that they cost so much. Did Allenbys still have there one?

  6. I Emailed Allenby's last night but haven't had a reply, my mechanic got one from one of his contacts, i had almost resigned myself to having to get one from Ebay for quite a lot more than I will be paying for this one...I also don't know why they cost so much, maybe its a name thing?

  7. Got the bike back from my Indie at the weekend, replacement Termi box fitted, new Oberon clutch slave fitted and a new alloy clutch pack too, belts changed as well as the usual fluids and filters, fuel injection reset and general once over...the old Titanium Termi box had been welded already and was beyond repair with hairline cracks forming in various places, I will be going back to pick it up in the coming weeks ,it might be of use to someone on the bay ,and also give me the chance to recoup some of the dosh I've just unloaded!...

I Would be interested to know what sort of price a franchised dealership would have charged me for the above work?... not including the cost of the replacement used Termi race box and Oberon clutch slave...

p.s...the bike feels like a new one tho.....:grinning:
