999 Bobbins

    aluminium is a little worrying but I guess titanium would be a serious price
     
  3. There are several grades of aluminium, some of them being harder than some steel grades.

  4. Just having semi floaters working properly has made an enormous difference :)

  7. Yeah you can buy bobbins only and fit them to your rotor. Black shadow (UK disc maker) sell them as do AP racing. Should be £2.50 - £4.50 each.

    There is a seller on eBay that has a decent description of how to fit them.
     
  8. If you have to.replace anyway then just buy full floating rotors, that's what I would do if it were me anyways.

  9. So if, hypothetically, an idiot got too excited with the power tools and broke one of the spring washers, the effect would be negligible wouldn't it?
    Apparently it still brakes perfectly, better than ever as the bobbins have been freed up a bit.

  10. I'm guessing that the spring washers are there to prevent the rattling that's been talked about, so it won't adversely affect the braking at all.
    Perhaps @jusutus can confirm...
