IIRC, the BNP HQ used to be in Bexley or nearby, as we used to drive past it on the way to visiting my ex-wife's parents who lived in the area. It's probably no coincidence that when we were sitting in the garden one day with our then toddler-aged son that a person or persons unknown in the street started throwing half-brick sized rocks and clods of earth over the hedge, which only narrowly missed him. Her parents (who were black) also had their windows put through a couple of times, plus the occasional abusive note and a fair amount of general anti-social behaviour was directed at them and the house. Plus of course, Stephen Lawrence was murdered in that part of the world too.
I know, I used to walk past that too. Twas on Upper Wickam Lane more towards Welling. I took many a turd on their doorstep as it was dark and handy. Also nearby was Dansen Park Youth club where they all hung out. I got caught there one day and got beat up by at least 20 skins. Just because I was a mod. Blimey. I grew up around there and lived in a block on Frances Street, just down from the barracks. Luckily I moved out of London in the early 80s. It really was/is a shite area.

The only skinheads I ever met were the National Front type, always seemed to be real bone heads. A lot of Punk concerts attempted to refuse skinheads entrance but in never worked in the end as there’d be too many outside. Then they’d come storming in and cause mayhem......
The proper skins were always smarter dressed usually. Nf skins thought boots n braces made you a skinhead. They never got the subtlety.
