  1. I think if you just say I want 5 grand off he will say no but he will understand due to the bikes rarity, part of the whole price is also being looked after like a cosetted garage queen and with a large part of that missing, if you could get some ideas on price to keep it as the bike needs to be kept, and then show him, he can see why you are asking the price you are asking.

It's also worth mentioning to him that any buyer will have to have these same things done so the price people offer will bear that same work in mind. If he wants to sell then point out you there, ready to go and no mucking about.

  2. This is all so very excellent, thank you Dave. I’m going to read as much of that as I dare today. Do you still have your bike?

  3. I totally agree. I’m not trying to steal it from him after all, and it needs to work for both of us.

  4. In his hall I think ;)

  7. I think you’re forgetting I’m the kind of guy who would end up paying full price for a DFS sofa.

  8. If you are shit at haggling, lay your offer down, don't haggle but simply explain your offer, declare what it is and then say you appreciate he may need time to consider it and you wish to leave it with him. Finish off with, your offer is firm, there is no mucking about and can be concluded within minutes if he decides it's a go.

That way you put the ball in his court and give him time with very little pressure on yourself other than impatience :D

  9. Firm believer in ‘I’ll pay this, take or leave it, not interested in mucking about’ approach to both buying and selling.

  10. Have you sold your GSXR yet?

  11. Nope. I offer at a price I’ll s§ell at. If no one wants it, and I won’t take less, it stays put.

    til the next time ;)

tbh I haven’t pushed the sale, as I have found someone who can repair the ti pipe and can, which makes it a lot mire saleable as it’s a genuine factory race system, not aftermarket bolt on. May yet use it...

And I’ve had a few other things on my plate ;)

  12. I've seen that before, it's not a production engine.

Here was mine when it was in for a service and I has a small oil weep sorted while there. :)

  13. Yes. I’ll never sell it as long as I can ride it, but after 15,000 miles in 3 years and riding little else apart from my off-roader in that time I needed a change for my everyday biking so the D16 has been laid up for the last few years. She’ll be back on the road soon when I have more time.
