I would say ideal Viv but do note the steering damper stuff if getting a bigger one. Also I haven't checked but certainly earlier ones would seem to have less lock than SS equivalent. It's easier on the shoulders for sure thinking of you.
Well yes but front still stays light I was thinking of buying a wheelie school entry here: Learn2Wheelie - Book a Course
yes, me too. The big monnie does like to wheelie and it would be nice to have more control. It's very predictable once the front is lifting, but I'd like to know that I can completely control it. Completely on topic, the first Box meet I went to, I passed Rick Oldie on the way beck to Kingston and pulled a lovely power wheelie going past : ) Completely accidental, but it must have looked intentional!
I'm interested in learning to wheelie properly, there is a discount or £20/person if 4 people book. Who's up for it soon? Lets do it soon!
Yep and not to far from London, Jerry, Chris you up for it? If so it is groups of 4 to 6. Waiting for good weather might be an issue.....
let's do it then - make sure all your clutches are new/good. EDIT Party pooper here, just seen the price.. i'm sure you'll get a fourth candidate soon.
Pretty sure you use their bikes-they have a cut out switch on the rear of the of bike( see photo) so when you are heading backwards too far, the switch cuts the engine and allows the front wheel to drop back to where it should be!
Thanks Chris Less lock!!! The SS had none lol What difference does a damper make? The ease on my shoulders will be the make or break
So you out, they provide bikes for that price. They allow guests so you could pop in as camera man Yep you start on quad bikes to get used to going up, then you move to their special bikes with throttle cut off. If they deem you good enough and you want to they will allow you to use your own bike towards the end. Viv bars are wider so it appears to have less lock but it does not have much less. Re damper well Vic you are going for up to 800 so you should be fine as torque curve is moved higher on smaller cc. Chris you can adjust lock you know.
I can be that camera man
Viv bars are wider so it appears to have less lock but it does not have much less. Chris you can adjust lock you know.
well aware of that Lucasz - had to remove both ####ing stops and free off nuts over the stove for MOT (lol) and they are set to absolute max with bars comfortable. The kind of lock adjustment needed on a Monster (just to get it same a carb SS (regardless of handlebars)) is with a hammer on both sides at front of tank
When we talked I told you that as you sit more upright on monster you do not have as much weight on front as on SS. What it does is makes the steering feel light (good for slow town riding) but at speed it can be bit nervous. That can be countered by better suspension setup but fitting damper prevents the front wheel from making sudden, violent turns left/right. Damper allows you to make full movement but depending how hard it is set it might require more force and all sudden move's will be negated, it has to be fluent moves. Saying that m900 has a bigger problem then all smaller cc as there is more torque down low so front goes up at a snap.
