Brands Hatch Indy - 28th May

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Jefr0, May 10, 2014.

  1. Nope, rained all morning and into the afternoon. Wasn't until about 3 o'clock that the rain abaited. Had a great day, 3 sessions in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. The new Bridgestone wets worked brilliantly and I learned a lot about riding in the wet. The 748R continues to amaze me and I just love that bike soooo much. Just got back now after stopping off at the Moat for a bite to eat, got the car and trailer unloaded, dropped my girl friend off back at her house and am now going to kick back and have a few beers before hitting the sack. TBO I'm bushed but well pleased with the day. Andy

  2. Oh yes, it was very nice to meet Jefro. I feel for you mate, I would have made the same choice, Pireli super corsers were definitely not the tyre for this morning but good on you for coming back on the CBR, at least you got some track time. Nice talking to your dad as well. Andy

  3. Ah what a day! Checked the forecast late last night and it said rain till 8am then dry for the day. So I decided on taking the Ducati and hope for the track to dry out.... Midday approaches and it hasn't stopped raining. I'm on supercorsas and track being wet I didn't see the day getting better or me getting a session out there. The forecasts didn't know whether it was raining or dry and kept changing!

So I decided to ride home and swap bikes for my all weather commuter Honda Cbr 600. Got back and it was light misty rain most the day with patches of none at all. Managed to get 3 sessions in the end after they merged fast inters with pro. There became a dry racing line which if you kept too was fine. I slipped a couple of times still despite this but nothing too serious.

Nice to meet you too Andy. Was a good bunch today and got chatting to various people. Turned out ok in the end. I'm now going to start looking at some more days too to make up for it as I had spent the last month getting the Ducati track ready with some fairings I bought amongst other things!

  4. My Dad enjoyed himself and saw him having a good chat with everyone! Was good watching the fast group in how they rode in the wet!
