I wanted to replace the calliper pinch bolts on my SS so I first got in touch with Brembo who advised that the bolts are not available. So over to accu.co.uk where I buy all of my SS bits’n bobs from. You can get the low profile cap head bolts but you are then limited to the SS grades available to you, A2 & A4. Also the hex socket in the low profile cap heads is smaller than the socket in the standard cap head bolts. I went with standard cap head bolts which look OK, have the larger socket which gives greater confidence in torquing and the grades available are A2, A4 (aka marine), A4-80 (aka high tensile), Duplex (also high tensile), Super high tensile (Bumax) or if you do have a bottomless wallet TI grade 5. Alternatively they also provide a bespoke manufacturing service. I can’t remember which grade I went with for certain but I’m pretty sure it was A4-80 because I can remember agonising about strength. I have bought from Accu a number of times and cannot fault their service. The packaging is quality, their tech advice is spot on and recently they have been crowing about being suppliers to a number of F1 teams so definitely not an EBay special crew.
If you read my post above you will see that I tried but Brembo said no can do. So where do you go from there?
I didn’t ask. If Brembo don’t do them how are Ducati going to source them? If you look at the official Ducati parts manual for my bike the front and rear callipers are listed as single items, no component parts listed at all.
