Yeh works really well in my foamer! this is what I have got and it’s bloody brill here is what it did for my car arches as well
Personally I would never use acid base cleaners on or around brake calipers. My go to is Korosol, another Bilt Hamber product which can also be used to soak clean paintwork before washing off but be very careful to follow the manufacturers instructions to the letter.
Some great tips here but don't think I would use any product not designed for the purpose - what effect might some of the non car/motorcycle products have on the piston seals and/or the brake pad material if the pads have not been removed? ;-)
Before fitting new pistons and seals I simmered mine in hot water and detergent for 15 mins, looked much better.
Callipers are back on, now threading the new Hel brake lines in "race" set up to the master cylinder and having to trim 2mm off the bolt through the banjos.
Hi Paul, sounds strange to need to trim the banjo bolt down. How many copper washers are you using on the banjo?
Yes, very annoying. Two banjos, three washers, bolt is still too long so will not squeeze the washers and make a seal.
Please be wary about either strong acid or alkali cleaners on plated parts. In many cases you will see the plating start to bubble as it reacts. If youre going to do it try it on something that doesn't matter. Wheel cleaners in general are not designed for use on other than wheels.
