As an immigrant, I'd say whenever I've been hassled by chavs/yoofs they usually have a local accent... That said, whoever it is needs to get a hiding. And I agree with the above statements that they should be pursued and if injured, made to pay their own medical fees. Once you step away from a society by breaking it's rules, then you should not have the benefit of its support.
If you committed a crime in a motor vehicle then removed your seatbelt when pursued by the Police, would they abort? Chase the bastards down, use the dogs when they bail, lock their remains up. There's 5 things that need to be introduced immediately that will help the current position we find ourselves in 1) reintroduce capital punishment for murders, rapist's. Pedophiles , drug dealers 2) deport all illegal immigrants 3) get rid of all the bleeding heart liberals 4) let the police do there jobs properly make sure they are properly funded and equipped 5) make the punishment for the crime is lock the shits up for a long time This would be a good start then we could start dealing with the scroungers and idle bastards who won't work
I would add a point 6 Make prisons miserable horrible places - where you are locked in a basic 6 x 6 box with a toilet and no interaction with anyone else - that way prison costs come down and people would want to avoid going there - not the holiday camps they are with TV, Phones etc...
So how much more tax are you willing to pay for more police and more prison places? I believe that the UK is trying to deport illegal immigrants, but they are not the only ones who commit crime and once again no one wants to pay more tax for more people to chase the illegal immigrants.

Write to your MP and tell him/her to get off their arse and provide better policing. I bet if this was high end cars being nicked then there would be uproar and changes made.
