British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. No surprises that is turns out Graylings fully vetted "Ferry Company without ships" is led by a guy who already went bankrupt owing a fortune to HRMC, pensions and suppliers....

    Gross incompetance?

  2. I think it’s the first time ever I’ve agreed with the Tories.

  3. Corruption.

Government is not there to provide for your interests. Its there to feed which ever Party is in power.

I bet the money the Govt has given that Company has already disappeared and not a single sailing will happen.

  4. The current Tory Government is doing everything it possibly can to present itself as incompetent: incompetence on a scale we have not seen before.

    Makes you wonder ...

  5. Just the Tories ?
Be fair please Labour are on a par at least.

  6. The current make-up of the Labour Party exists only to keep the Tories in power. That's its role.

However, if you have an alternative theory that explains Lammy, Abbott and McDonnell ... I am all ears.

  7. I think you’re right about labour.
    Shame really.

    I don’t have a theory, sorry.

I find it hard to understand how any of the current high profile politicians have still got a job.

Also from what I’ve read here, you and I both believe the whole aim of government at the moment is to come up with a way of staying in the EU.

  8. bar the car radio i'm not reading or watching the news much if ever these days, how are they covering these storys? nothing brexit related on BBC Shortbreads main drive time current affairs shows for the last two days so far.

  9. I mostly follow people who post video clips on-line that feature what politicians are saying. From their own mouths they are condemned.

For instance, the speech that Democrat Rep Rashida Tlaib gave to her supporters upon taking her House Seat has to be seen to believed. I mean, if I told you that one of the first Muslim women ever to be sworn in to the US House of Representatives called Trump a "motherfucker" in front of a crowd, on her first day in office, you might be inclined to disbelieve me and I would not blame you.

Likewise, I was deeply skeptical, here on this very Ducati Forum, of the treatment Corbyn received at the hands of the UK Press when he first become the PLP leader. It was only after hearing Jeremy speak for himself that I realised what a true giga-cunt he is. And don't get me start on Rabid McDonnell and Davey Lammy.
Same with MayBot - watching her at PMQs convinced me that she is Juncker's butt monkey.

Seeing is believing, the rest you have to take with a pinch of salt.

  11. I've just discovered Tim Martin Chairman of JD Wetherdspoons. Pro Brexit man.

Probs been said before but worth a recap of some of his points.
Whatever the EU sell you can get better quality and cheaper elsewhere (so expect the cost of living to drop not increase if we leave without a deal).
The tariffs for non EU goods is an EU tax sent to Brussels.
No deal = no need to pay the 39 Billion.
A stand alone UK doesn't need to charge any tariffs.

Clearly, he is in front of the game as he has been sourcing stuff from outside the EU and selling it in his pubs (more of it and cheaper) and everyone without this foresight would have to catch up. But he is showing whats possible.

  13. Martin is surprisingly eloquent on the subject of Brexit.

Well, when he isn't being drowned out by caterwauling Remoaner imbeciles who attend his talks with the sole intention of shouting over him and not letting him speak.

I swear, there is a subset of Remainder that sits under the cockroach in the evolutionary hierarchy.

  14. I do find it hard to believe than any sizeable business that will be affected to the UK leaving the EU has not done any preparations, and possibly tried to be prepared whatever the outcome.

  15. The ones outspoken in a negative way about Brexit are the ones who's CEO's have fucked up in recent business decisions and need Brexit as a scapegoat :)
