British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Having watched the interviews and read the tweets posted by the others who did attend Mays meeting, it appears they all say broadly that May has not changed her position at all. Evidently Theresa thought the meeting was a great oppourtunity to repeat the same failed shite she has been saying for the last two years. No surprise really, and certainly none that JC didn't want to hear it all again...

  2. If both the conservatives and labour changed their leaders over night, we might get a plan the majority could agree on.

  7. Mayhem resents polling advice, the last time she believed it was when it suggested "landslide" and minimum 36 seat majority! That translated to "Pay Arlene a billion and don't ever pass go again".

  9. I've never understood the dup got billions, I'm pretty sure they haven't won anything than to have the bragging rights at election time to say they got more investment for the people of Northern Ireland, Isn't that what the snp do all the time?

  10. If both the conservatives and labour changed their leaders over night, we might get a plan the majority could agree on.
    yip, maybe 62-70% remain?.
I didn't say was a good idea or what I want/voted for, but it may provide a way forward.
the only good way forward is if you achieve a 62-70% vote remain. yip, i agree, change leaders. but they're gonna have to change the script too. 2nd reff.

  11. Again dude, Indi or Brexit - perhaps a little clearer in future: put which one in brackets perhaps

  14. no, they/we rely on a fixed partial refund of the tax returns we generate up here, Whitehall call it a grant. ?.
it's a calculation worked on a population share of uk income. we get a population share of it.
we also pay a population share of all its costs and its interest payments on its debt.
its called the Barnet formula and makes no adjustment for geography or demographics. for those affected it really is worth having a wee look see. eye opener.
we have v,limited powers over taxation and non over avoidance. so, if you say we are well funded, its only because its been earned.
    anyhoo. enough about that.
May's a cvnt. and labour up here? naw, just naw. so i can kinda appreciate the turmoil that's going on down by.
it seems pretty chilled up here in comparison.

  15. The problem is that within each party there are at least 3-4 "tribes" each one with its own proposal/idea/concept on how to sort out the Brexit. Now way any of the "tribes" will form a majority.Look at it this way...if you have 300 folks to choose between only 2 options BLACK or WHITE it is quite easy to form a majority(or at least have a definite answer) if you have the following options on the table BLACK, WHITE, RED, BLUE,GREEN you would struggle to get a clear undisputed majority. Hence (altough I do not agree with the idea) the best/quickest option would be to extend Article 50 by couple of months and have a new referendum with 2 simple question. Remain a full member or WTO(external trading partner might sound better)
