British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. We don't want a deal that doesn't mean the Referendum isn't upheld, that is all...

  2. You’re all saying no deal and that means no agreements

  3. Why are they so uptight about everything?

  4. Because they is French

  5. I could tell you but I'm subject to a D-Notice. So it's a mystery why they are uptight (and getting shot).

  6. No, never said that :):upyeah:

  7. As said many times, Norway and Switzerland were held up as shining examples of the way to go

  8. Didn’t you sign a petition to leave with no deal?

  9. Not by me! I suggested they were options to avoid!

  10. The Vote Leave campaign gave Switzerland and Norway as examples of how Britain could relate to the EU. We are a million miles from those. I don’t recall anyone ever advocating a Hard Brexit as a desirable method of leaving before the referendum, but it’s what most leavers amongst the general public seem to want.

Even Rees Mogg wants an agreement.

  11. To leave, as thy were bullying us - never to have a deal in the future: no

  12. I did.

The only way to obtain from the EU a deal worthy of the term is to tell them you won't deal.

  17. I know some folk wanted to Remain in the EU on Norway/Swiss terms. They needed reminding that Leave means Leave.

JRM wants an agreement. You want an agreement . We all want an agreement. How we get what want though - not many politicians seem to be terribly clued in on that score.

Do you know? Do you know how we get an agreement that honours the Leave vote and doesn't allow the EU to peel the skin from our backs? I bet you do.

  18. Make your mind up.
So no future trading agreements with the EU because you think they bullied you.
    Why so precious?

  20. Because brexiteers want to “take back control”
To make laws which are different from EU laws.

You cannot be a member of the single market of laws governing

    The environment
    The workplace
    Product construction standards

Where they are different or inferior to EU laws because that is then not a level playing field for other EU members to compete. It is why the EU is protectionist against say products from the Far East. Those laws are made to protect EU industry. So if Rees Mogg favourite economist is correct and UK farming and industry are destroyed by no deal we may as not have any sovereignty since we will be dependent on others for food and military security. In my view, this is not taking back control. It’s giving it to the free market
