Go a little further back in history and they were chopping each others heads odd and not having a by election lets look to a brighter future instead
The difference. is Churchill was a true statesman what we have in parliament now is almost to a person is a load of self serving corrupt unemployable chancers
Churchill asked his entire constituency if there was any objection to his remaining an MP in a bulk mailing that was ground-breaking for the time. He did not receive a single email suggesting he shouldn't continue on as MP. Job done.
How easy it is to lose a trade deal. Now if they were in a protectionist union.... https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-c...-imports-sets-2019-quota-source-idUKKCN1QA0F1
I take China’s point: you wouldn’t want to be lumbered with any ‘Unsafe’ second rate Australian coal would you?
Not a damned thing ... and you know for a fact that if people didn't agree with Churchill's move, a full-on Twitter Outrage Mob would have formed before you can say, "We shall never surrender".
Apparently he changed parties in 1904 because he was against protectionist tariffs. Got that from his facebook account
protectionist tarrifs in those days meant vat on bullets. the guy was a total wank by todays standards
A man of principal a true statesman l wasn't a fan of Thatcher but I dont believe she would have allowed decent in her party She was a true leader
I'm thinking you mean "dissent" ... but it you will confirm you actually meant "decent", I will "Like" your post : o )
Damn, even more positive economic news.... Borrowing in the financial year-to-date has nearly halved compared to last year and is 40pc lower than the OBR's forecast. The chancellor now has "headroom of at least £15bn" and Mr Hammond will have "plenty of scope to support growth" in a no deal Brexit, said Thomas Pugh of Capital Economics. The chancellor's Spring Statement is expected to be a low-key event as he builds a war chest to tackle a possible economic downturn after Brexit.
You know what? Across the board, no matter what your view on Brexit; I think we have ALL been very badly let down by our MP's.
