In short ; Remainers are right (smart) Leavers are wrong (dumb) The U.K. might be leaving the Eu or it might not. We had a vote on it and people voted to leave, but it was close. Some people say because it was close we should have another vote on it, but our PM doesn’t think we should. We’re waiting now, to see what happens when they have their 3rd vote on our PMs withdrawal agreement. ( the first 2 were not close )
If there was another vote!! and the result was the other way around 52/48 to remain, would the government say, to bring the country back together as it was a close call we must half leave the EU to please the 48%, as they are doing now to please the remainers they are only half taking us out, if that makes any sense.
I see what you mean. I fairly sure if another vote was 50.01 % in favour of remain we would withdraw article 50 the next day.
Congratulations, you win a life time membership to the ‘smart people’ club and free (yes free) copy (DVD or Blu-Ray) of Matilda.
And we must obey the wishes of the British people, wash there hands of the whole thing and never mention it again.
Now don't you all forget that Theresa May stated quite clearly "Leave means Leave"............. ..........yep, she was dead right, that's what the dictionary says.
Happy St. Patrick's weekend to you Glidd, from Ireland. I appreciate your responses and do wish to retort, however, as this debate is going off thread a tad I will start a new thread on the issues of avoiding tax as soon as I get a moment. This may not be today as I'm about to go and watch the Wales v Ireland match followed by the England v Scotland match and see who wins this year's Six Nations . Undoubtedly that will involve some . We, and others, can then happily debate the issues around the subject whilst leaving this thread as a Brexit thread . I'll let you know when I've started it.
Interesting given we are told, by some, it's only happening in the U.K. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...than-5-000-jobs-in-germany-in-european-revamp
