British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. ok.exe. time to go home anyway. mostly because, all of a sudden

  6. There is no further negotiation.... so we are not giving the EU the ability to name the price.
    The choice I thought was
    Existing deal
    Or
    Leave on WTO rules.

  7. I now see what you mean. I misunderstood your earlier post.

Between the 2 choices I think one with the existing back stop is difficult to sell.

  8. I think if you take the "what are you afraid of" jibe of another democratic vote, what they mean is, we want to ignore the last vote and do it again

If you were using democracy in line so to speak, the decision to leave has already been made, if there then was to be a following vote, it should be before the legal leave date and under what conditions we would leave.

given parliaments game playing, what we have as choices are, leave under mays deal which all sides agree is worse than what we have and gives most of our controls over to the eu and with no say OR a clean break, with a wto & free trade agreement.

  9. Agree 100%
But the deal HAS to be worse than what we have, the EU don't want others to see how good it is to leave.
I would really like to know what in the deal makes it such a bad deal? Sometimes you hear so many voices saying " it's a bad deal" but no one saying why, and to be honest, most of those people saying it's a bad deal I wouldn't trust their opinion anyway.

  10. Presidents and prime ministers have moved on in less the than this has taken. Approx 3 million people that were not eligible to vote now are eligible. Approx 1 million have died.

The landscape is not the same. If you can't start implementing stuff quickly after a referendum then there should be another one.

  11. Bullet points for some of the issues:
    • The WA is a treaty that the UK cannot extricate itself from unilaterally without effectively leaving Northern Ireland in the EU.
    • The WA otherwise ends when the EU says it can end.
    • During the life of the WA, the UK cannot negotiate its own trade deals or tariff structures, and must defer to the EU at all times in matters of trade, with the UK unable to influence (or even question, FFS!) the decisions made by the EU.
    • Buried within the WA is an undertaking that the UK will have its Military funding, command structure and decision-making slaved to the EU.
There are more issues which I might be able to dig out, if for some inexplicable reason people think any single one of the above points is insufficient on its own.

  12. Yes, absolutely!

A 2nd confirmatory people's vote referendum, after which we can ruminate for three years and then call for a 3rd confirmatory people's vote referendum!

  13. effin jeffin, how desperate are you :joy:

This of course works on the diane abbot mathmaticals of the extreme remainers who assume only old people voted leave and all the young didn't. As to the the one million having died, apart from that echo chamber, can I ask what proof you have of any of it other than "The Viz" ?

  14. Can I just ask, what die-off rate will Remainders settle for?

Should we suspend healthcare of the elderly until we can safely Remain in the EU?

    Just curious.

  15. Who's fault is that? Cameron said he would invoke Article 50 the day after the vote if he lost.

So seeing as you are making new rules up, I'm going to do the same............If you can't start implimenting stuff quickly after a referendum, you don't try, you just leave.

Cool, I like this approach. :)
