British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.

  3. Boris Johnson's Brexit policy 'unacceptable' - EU negotiator https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49118107

Barnier apparently said no can’t remove the backstop
Junker said the deal on offer is the only deal being offered, but the commission will be there if Johnson wants to talk (contradiction?)

    No deal then ?

  4. No deal is the only way to go....
The EU deal is unacceptable and TM was wrong to bring it to parliament.
She was just way too eager to get a super soft BREXIT (being a remainer) at all costs.

  5. May wasn't a remainer. she picked the side that she expected to win.

  6. Doesn't that make her a remainer ?

  7. You need a lesson in politics........................ @noobie or @Loz will be along in a minute to assist :)

  8. Awrence has got Sophie under his wing already Tel.

  9. I'm here to learn :)

To be honest I don't know her views of the EU before the referendum, but she, if nothing else, tried to come across as a remainer.

  10. Has he ?

  13. I hope it shows my best side.

On the subject of 'which side are you on boys'

Politicians are pretty famous for 'saying what they think you want to hear' or stating the party 'line' to get elected. If you are deciding who to vote for, do you base it on what they are saying now, or what they have been saying for the last 20-30 years ?

  14. the last 20-30years.

wether by accedent or design, weather vain politics is probably the norm now.

  15. Personally I think they are going to have to change - it's too easy to take their current speech saying 'We stand for ......', look on the internet and realise they've been saying the opposite for years.

  16. its not gonna happen. not yet anyhoo. i dont see any signs in your part of the world that says your takeing back controle. i dont see any signs that your leaders are capable or even willing to seek consensus accross the board. thats FPTP for you in the UK when its now a multi party state.
its been about securing a majority not unity. by any means possible. a majority being about 30-35%.
the consiquences of which are visible. even on here. mostly due to the relentless typing from the likes of, post truth noob, with a lil help from shitstirring loz.
the further north you go from london and the S/E the more disenfranchised the UK feels, yet, why is there a significant minority of people from england that look north accross the boarder and blame them for their ills when their Gov is in London?. that takes a fair amount of investment, effort and spin from those that dont need their votes to make 35% of the vote.
keep em devided and increasingly at each others throats. you do that by employing the services of profesional liars. if you have learned anything from the last 30years, that aint gonna change any time soon.

the further south you go from Scotland and the highlands, the more disenfranchised scotland feels, yet, why is there a significant minority of people from scotland that look south accross the boarder and blame them for their ills when their Gov is in holyrood?.

that takes a fair amount of investment, effort and spin from those that dont need their votes to make 36.9% of the vote.

  18. and right on cue.
yet many say we get way to much. rather than saying, why cant our gov do that for us. what are they doing right that our gov cant.

  19. What I mean is, it doesn’t take much effort to get more information on an issue now, unless one is blinkered.
