British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. I think it would be funny, and what better way to let them know that people have had enough

  2. Can you imagine for one second that the Rt.Hon Michael Gove Esq. would not vote for himself?

    • Funny Funny x 2
  3. They could at least drop the Rt. Hon prefix.

Or is it there because they have a sense of humour ?

  4. Or any other chinless wonder (I include politicians of all flavours in that statement)

  10. Just keep playing their game then.

  11. what other option do you have?. are you gonna march on Westminster?

  12. I haven’t found another option.

I might make some placards to wave

  13. I’m not a Tory, and have never voted for the same party because ‘that’s my party’.
Tend to see at the time which party I think would be best, in my opinion.

The main parties main concern at the moment seems to be their parties - let’s hope that changes in the event of a GE.

  14. Yeah read all that myself this morning.

Odd isn't it that until now the CBI have only ever commented on the UK as though the EU were entirely unaffected, yet now with the intransigence of no movement from the EU they get a mention.

    Most odd

There's also quite an interesting piece somewhere (I'll find it) regards Ireland and the use of them / Leo as a pawn, and what the future holds for Ireland under proposed new EU tax rules IF they're not given an exclusion

  15. Radio 4 mentioned the CBI report this morning, but gave their take on it, that the UK and EU were equally unprepared (they also referred to it as a disastrous no-deal brexit that no one wants - I wonder if it says that in the full CBI report ).

  16. But of course it is, you can tell by the headline only mentioning the UK and then the EU in the first paragraph.

Bloody love those impartial little buggers

  17. The last time the cbi was mentioned a number of things popped up.

Given the millions of business's registered at companies house the cbi only claims to speak for 190,000 businesses.

This is made up of around 1,500 direct members and 188,500 non-members. Most of the 1,500 are the big multi nationals that do not want change and the non members are through representative trade bodies. The majority of companies however are small and are not represented by the cbi

We have about 10? weeks left before we are out, those with a vested business in remaining will be throwing everything at it during that time and that includes the cbi.

What is more worrying is that they know the U.K. has finally acted like an equal side in negotiations and given the companies the cbi represent, would recognise these as standard negotiations techniques so you would have to ask why they are so pro eu and anti uk
